Vicariate Realignment!
ReplyDeleteAs you may already know, the Genesis Vicariate has been restructured and now consists solely of parishes in Wayne County, specifically Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park. Parishes located in Warren and Centerline that were members of the Genesis Vicariate are now part of the Central Macomb Vicariate. Our new Vicar is Msgr. Mike LeFevre of Blessed Sacrament and our Regional Moderator is Msgr. Don Hanchon of Holy Redeemer Parish.
As stated in a letter from Archbishop Vigneron, the reconfiguration into four Regions each with four Vicariates, is designed to “provide additional leadership and support for this key part of our Archdiocese, with a focus on its unique needs.” The Archbishop also calls upon us to be patient and understanding as we move into the realignment.
Please see the back of the newsletter for the updated Parish & Mass Directory and details on how to submit your events, notifications and information for publication in future newsletters. You can also visit the website, www.GenesisVPC.org, which will be updated over the next couple of months as changes occur and more information becomes available.
